Reading Passage — Test C

Lina wanted to improve her English because she planned to take an online business course. At first, she watched long videos with subtitles, but she often forgot the main ideas after the lesson ended. She realized that watching was not enough. She needed a better study method.

Lina started using a small notebook while studying. Before each lesson, she read the title and wrote two questions that she wanted to answer. During the lesson, she wrote only the most important words and examples. After the lesson, she used her notes to explain the topic out loud in her own words. After one month, Lina could remember more information and speak about business topics with more confidence. She learned that good studying is active, not passive.

Answer the questions after the reading time ends.

1. Why did Lina want to improve her English?

2. What problem did Lina have at first?

3. What did Lina do before each lesson?

4. What did Lina do after each lesson?

5. What does the passage mean by “active, not passive” studying?
